Harper - Harrison
SNOW HILL — Amanda Lynn Harrison and Steven Ray Harper exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 2 at 3 p.m. at Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leon Grubbs officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Linda Williams and Morris Ray Davis of Goldsboro and Jarvis Ober and Ruth Harrison of Snow Hill and the granddaughter of Elizabeth Oakes Harrison of Snow Hill, the late Jarvis Ober Harrison Sr., and the late Emerson and Edna Ham Williams.
She is a graduate of Greene Central High School and Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She is employed as the administrative officer with Eastern Aluminum Supply Inc.
The groom is the son of the late Dennis Ray and Linda Shivar Harper of Deep Run and the grandson of the late Steve and Essie Harper Shivar and the late Fernie and Carrie Harper.
He graduated from South Lenoir High School. He is employed as parts director with Sale Auto Mall of Kinston and is owner of Harper Lawn Care.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was decorated with beading and rhinestones along the bust and waistline. The full skirt had box pleating and flowed into a semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a double-tiered elbow-length ivory veil.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of purple hydrangeas, stephanotis and ivory roses.
April Harrison Fields of Snow Hill was her sister’s matron of honor.
Morris Ray Davis of Goldsboro was best man.
Lauryn Kaylee Fields of Snow Hill, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Jared Harrison Fields of Snow Hill, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Presiding at the register were Sarah Worthington Davis and Sonia Warters West of Snow Hill, friends of the bride. Renee Anderson Barnes of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Murphy, pianist; Doug and Celena Smith, vocalists; David Ginn, sound technician; and Paige Vickory Barwick, violinist.
Following the ceremony, the family of the couple held a reception in the church family life center.
After a wedding trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple reside in Snow Hill and Deep Run.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower May 5 at Shine Volunteer Fire Department hosted by family and friends of the couple; and a surprise miscellaneous shower May 1 at Eastern Aluminum Supply hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The couple and their families held a rehearsal dinner June 1 at the home of Jimmy and Cora Harrison Kearney.
