Pearson - Woodyard
Katherine Howard Woodyard and Rickie Allen Pearson Jr. of Kinston exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 5 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Drew Clard officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gary Wayne of Goldsboro and Sue Bocock Woodyard of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late John Francis and Violet White Woodyard, Loyd George Bocock Sr. and the late Ruby Gusler Bocock of Pearisburg, Va.
She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1998 and Mount Olive College in 2002 with a degree in business administration. She is employed as a sales representative at Pro-Reps Inc. of Kinston.
The groom is the son of Rickie Allen Pearson Sr. of Deep Run and Joy Hall Pearson of Hugo and the grandson of the late Fred Pearson Jr. and Lossie Rutledge Tydnall of Kinston and the late James Kenneth and Nannie Loyd Hall of Hugo.
He graduated from North Lenoir High School in 1998 and Lenoir Community College in 2002 with a degree in basic law enforcement training. He is employed as a deputy sheriff at Lenoir County Sheriff’s Department.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a white matte satin formal gown with a V-halter neckline. The bodice was embellished with appliqués of Venice lace with crystal and pearl beading accents. The skirt repeated the same trim and beading and was inset with ribbon that flowed into a chapel length train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered elbow-length veil.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of spring flowers and calla lilies.
Jennifer Woodyard Stevens, sister of the bride and Michelle Jenkins Brock, friend of the bride, were matrons of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kelly Pearson Johnson, sister of the groom, and Adrian Howard Wade, Amy Nicole Craven and Nadine Renata Schwab, friends of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Shannon Nicole Jones and Ashliegh Lanier Johnson, friends of the bride.
Rickie Allen Pearson Sr. father of the groom, and Warren Scott Johnson, brother-in-law of the groom, were best men.
Groomsmen were Stephen Brandon Houghton, Thomas LeGrande Berry III, Travis Lee Johnson and David Brandon Wade, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Samuel Elton McLawhorn and Jason Erik Dixson, friends of the groom.
Phyllis Patterson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Cameron Malpass. David Tyler Brumfield, cousin of the bride, and Lindsey Smith, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ingle and Abigail Ingle greeted guests.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. Jeremy Thompson, organist and pianist; Walter Futrelle III, vocalist; and Doug Tart, trumpeter.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding cruise to Grande Cayman and Ocho Rios, the couple reside in Kinston.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding day brunch at the Ellis home hosted by Mrs. Michael Ellis and Mrs. Allan Harvin; a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 4 at the Edmondson home hosted by Barbara Novicki, Karen Haithcock and Gail Edmondson at which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants; a bachelor weekend hosted by family and friends; and a bachelorette weekend hosted by family and friends.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at First Presbyterian Church.
