Bradford - Kennedy
BEULAVILLE — Melissa Ann Kennedy and Stacy “Donnie” Bradford Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Mike’s Farm, with Pastor John Taylor officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dean Kennedy of Pink Hill and the granddaughter of Elbert and Lonie Kennedy and the late Tharon and Evelyne Whaley of Pink Hill.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Don Bradford Sr. of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late Therman and Ruth Bradford, Ellena McCullen and the late Willard McCullen of Mount Olive.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal white satin A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with lace adorned with seed pearls, iridescent beads and sequins. The short scalloped sleeves were embellished with lace and iridescent beads and seed pearls. The back bodice had satin bows with seed pearls and iridescent beads and cascaded into a chapel-length train. She also wore a diamond necklace with accented diamond earrings.
Her headpiece was a silver tiara accented with crystals and pearls with an elbow-length veil of illusion enhance with satin trim.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of Virginia yellow roses and purple iris accented with baby’s breath.
Karolee Myers of Goldsboro was matron of honor, while Jo Crawford of Pink Hill was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Gibbs of Jacksonville and Kimberly Pittman of Pink Hill, friends of the bride.
Stacy Don Bradford Sr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Elvis Bradford of Goldsboro, brother of the groom; McClain Davis of Goldsboro, friend of the groom; and Alex Kennedy of Rose Hill, brother of the bride.
Jana Kennedy of Rose Hill, sister-in-law of the bride, was the honorary bridesmaid.
Alexis Kennedy, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Chase Ratliff of Rose Hill, friend of the bride, was the miniature groom.
Katlyn Bradford, daughter of the groom, was flower girl. Isaac Standridge of Jacksonville was ringbearer.
Betty Sholar of Rose Hill, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sherry Whaley of Pink Hill, aunt of the bride. Michelle Kennedy of Pink Hill, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Beverly Mobley and Amanda Lee of Pink Hill, cousins of the bride, vocalists, and Sherman Sandlin, deejay.
Following the ceremony, a reception dinner and dance was held in the banquet room. A three-tiered fountain cake with two satellites of red velvet, vanilla and cookies and cream was served.
The couple took a wedding trip to Walt Disney World, Fla.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower March 14 at Butterball LLC hosted by co-workers; a surprise lingerie shower March 4 at the Country Squire of Kenansville hosted by Karolee Myers, friend of the bride; and a miscellaneous shower Feb. 17 at the Taylor building at Potter’s Hill hosted by the bride’s mother and Jana Kennedy, sister-in-law of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner March 16 at Four-Horses in Beulaville.
