Bulla - Lawrence
LUCAMA — Heather Lynn Lawrence and John Michael Bulla exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. at Lucama United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sharon Sherrod officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Carl and Teresa Lawrence of Lucama, the granddaughter of Ed and Hazel Overman of Lucama and Nona Hunter and the late Jackie Hunter of Cary and the great-granddaughter of Mable Lawrence of Goldsboro.
She is a 2006 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with degree in pharmacy technician. She is employed at CVS Pharmacy.
The groom is the son of John and Elaine Bulla of Fremont and the grandson of Jerry Bulla and the late John H. Bulla II of Wilson and Bill and Laura Spivey of Tampa, Fla.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2002. He is self-employed at John Bulla Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a full-length white satin strapless gown with a princess bodice. It had embroidery and beaded floral designs that carried throughout the dress and chapel-length train.
Her two-tiered elbow-length veil was outlined with pearls.
Brittany Nicole Lawrence served her sister as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were LeAnn Arthur, friend of the couple.
Johnny Bulla was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brooks Barnes, friend of the couple.
Ushers were Neal Overman and Rick Overman, uncles of the bride.
Kaylee Bulla, niece of the groom, and Sara Spivey, cousin of the groom, were flower girls.
Mary Bulla, sister-in-law of the groom, directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was provided by Gail Bulla Scott, aunt of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held behind the church.
After a wedding trip to Maggie Valley, the couple reside in Fremont.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Aug. 19 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by Brittany Lawrence, sister of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 15 at their home.
