Harris - Ivey
Jamie Lynn Ivey and David “Mark” Harris exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. at Waynesborough Park, with the Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating.
The bride is the daughter of James W. Ivey Jr. and Gloria Best Ivey of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of James and Mae Ivey and the late Atlas and Ruth Hubert Best of LaGrange.
She is a 1999 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and a 2005 graduate of Central Carolina Community College with an Associate in Science degree in veterinary medical technology. She is employed as a registered veterinary technician at Mount Olive Animal Hospital.
The groom is the son of David and Sue Ann Harris of Goldsboro and the grandson of Evelyn and the late Charlie Harris of Kinston and Parrott Suggs and the late Doris Suggs of LaGrange.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1997 and from East Carolina University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management. He is employed as foreman of the utilities division at TA Loving Co.
The bride was escorted by father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white formal gown of Italian satin. The fitted bodice was accented with sequins and seed pearls. Rosettes adorned the full floor-length skirt.
She wore hairpins adorned with pearls and Swarvoski crystals.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of orange, pink and yellow gerbera daisies accented with waxflower.
Teresa Blackwell of Goldsboro served her cousin as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rebecca Harris of Goldsboro, sister of the groom, and Lisa Simila of Castle Hayne, friend of the bride.
David Harris was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Rodney Ivey of Goldsboro, brother of the bride, and Scott Johnson of Goldsboro, friend of the couple.
Stephanie Johnson of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kristen Gaskey of Sanford, friend of the bride. Ted Suggs and Luke Suggs, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Keith Waller, DJ
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception at Waynesborough Park.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple reside in LaGrange.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower July 29 at the home of Jesse and Kathy Johnson hosted by Kathy Johnson; a bachelor/bachelorette weekend July 21 through 23 in Wilmington hosted by Scott and Stephanie Johnson; a tool shower July 15 at Ham’s hosted by the groom’s family; and a miscellaneous shower June 25 at Mae’s restaurant of Seven Springs hosted by Jackie Rouse and Teresa Blackwell.
The groom’s parents and Harvey and Wendy Suggs held a rehearsal dinner at the home of Harvey and Wendy Suggs.
