SNOW HILL — Felicia Ann Boone of Kinston and Minister David Warren James of Kinston exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 10 at 2 p.m. at Victory and Dominion World Outreach Center, with Bishop Zebedee Sheppard officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Claudine Greene Boone of Grifton and William “Billy” Boone of Kinston and the granddaughter of the late Willie “Wiley” and Elizabeth “Bet” Bryant, the late Daniel Green and the late Sue Mae Greene of Fort Barnwell and Emma Lee Gerald of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.
She is a graduate of Kinston High School, a 1999 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in social work, a 2002 graduate of Central Michigan University with a master’s degree in administration and a concentration in general administration and a 2006 graduate of East Carolina University with a Master of School Administration degree.
She is licensed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as a school social worker. She is employed with Lenoir County Schools.
The groom is the son of Joe Oliver and Christine James of Toomsuba, Miss.
He graduated from Southeast Lauderdale High School in Mississippi in 1988 and Eagle Bible Institute in 2004, with an associate degree in biblical studies. He was ordained as a minister in 2005. He served in the Marine Corps as an aviation fire control radar technician. He is employed with the U.S. Postal Service.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.
She wore an ivory strapless satin A-line gown with a side-split overlay and asymmetrical waist detailing. The bodice and inset were adorned with Schiffli lace embroidery.
Her elbow-length ivory veil with a champagne corded edge and seed pearl and rhinestone detailing was attached to a gold garden bouquet tiara with ivory and champagne pearl flowers and crystals.
The bride carried a bouquet of white magnolias and yellow and purple roses with babies breath and ivy wrapped in white silk with a pearl sleeve.
Alisa Gibbs of Raleigh served her sister as matron of honor, while Tanyetta Strickland of Goldsboro was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tonya Faison of Goldsboro and Kristin Boone, daughter of the bride.
Elder Anthony Parris of Kinston served as best man.
Ushers were Deacon Charles Dail of Kinston and Deacon Dedric Staten of Faulkland.
Groomsmen were Minister Lennon Scott and Minister Michael Whitfield of Greenville and Elder Joseph Scott of Goldsboro.
Caroline Moore of Kinston was flower girl.
Michael Boone, son of the bride, was the bell ringer.
The bride directed the wedding. Stephanie Harris of Kinston was procedural director.
Presiding at the register were Aileen Adams and Wanda Conley of Snow Hill, Sekethia Baker, Kelee Moore and Carolyn Patrick of Kinston and Kristian Dawson-Chadwick of Greenville.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kristin Boone, vocalist, and Amy Jones of Ayden, flutist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Hampton Inn. Elder Anthony Parris and Tanyetta Strickland were masters of ceremony.
After a wedding cruise to Nassau and Coco Cay, Bahamas, and Cape Canaveral and Disney World, Fla., the couple reside in Kinston.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower June 2 at the Broken Eagle of Kinston hosted by Lenoir County Schools social workers and school nurses and a bridal shower May 15 at Frink Middle School hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The couple held a rehearsal dinner at the church.
