ROCKY MOUNT — Amanda Juliet Featherston of Rocky Mount and Michael James McKenna of Rocky Mount exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 22 at 3 p.m. at Englewood Baptist Church, with Pastor Michael Cloer and Pastor Bill Wilson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Richard J. and Terry W. Featherston of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Lessie S. Warren and the late Avener S. Warren of Goldsboro and the late Larue S. Featherston and James M. Featherston of Raleigh.

She is a 1999 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2004 and 2005 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in rehabilitation studies and a Master of Arts degree in teaching. She is employed as a science teacher with Nash/Rocky Mount School at Red Oak Middle School.

The groom is the son of James M. and Shu Mei McKenna of Goldsboro and the grandson of Wang Chang Chiung Yun and Wang Yen Shan of Taiwan and Lois B. McKenna and the late James P. McKenna of Sylvania, Ohio.

He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1997 and from East Carolina University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering. He is employed as a math teacher with Nash/Rocky Mount Schools at Red Oak Middle School.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal white strapless satin A-line dress. The fitted bodice was trimmed in blue satin. The back of the bodice was laced with blue satin. The sweep train had a blue satin border.

Her two-tiered veil trimmed in blue satin was attached to a rhinestone crown. The bride carried a bouquet of pink Gerber daisies, tea roses, lily of the valley and ivy.

Rhea Featherston served her sister-in-law as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lynetti Pardo, Sylvia Hill and Candice Woolard, friends of the couple, and Jamie McKenna, sister of the groom.

James McKenna served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Featherston Jr., brother of the bride, and Nicholas Davey, Ricky Martinsen and Skeet Woolard, friends of the couple.

Sierra Herring was flower girl.

Tibra Cloer directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kimberly House. Renn Baker and Brenda Thibodeau distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jimmy and Christi Finch, vocalists, and Alex Jackson, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Benvenue Country Club of Rocky Mount.

After a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple will reside in Rocky Mount.

Events held before the wedding included a girls’ night out July 14 at Mama Pizza of Rocky Mount hosted by Candice Woolard; a cookout July 8 at Englewood Baptist Church hosted by the couple’s Sunday school class; and a wedding shower June 3 at the home of the couple hosted by Stephanie Bossolona, Rhea Featherston and the Red Oak faculty.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner July 21 at Englewood Church.
