KINSTON — Sharon Faye Rouse and the Rev. Harold Powell Dew Jr. of Fremont exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 14 at 4 p.m. at Tanglewood Church of God, with the Rev. Timothy Lanier officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth Raymond and Brenda Faye Rouse of Grifton and the granddaughter of the late William Randolph and Mabel Grace Seymour of Kinston and Louise Johnson Rouse and the late Bishop Durwood Rouse of Grifton.

She is a1984 graduate of Kinston High School and a 1989 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She is employed as a financial assistant with A.G. Edwards and Sons Inc.

The groom is the son of Harold Powell Sr. and Bettie Chloe Dew of Raleigh and the grandson of Annie B. Payne of Raleigh, the late Ira D. Payne of North Wilkesboro and Betty Dew and the late Harry C. Dew of Raeford.

He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and Campbell University Divinity School in 2004 with a Master of Divinity degree.

He is employed as pastor of Fremont Missionary Baptist Church.

The bride was escorted by her father.

She wore an A-line gown of white bridal satin. The bodice and train were adorned with flower appliqués accented with pearls and beading. She carried a bouquet of silk roses and daisies.

Kaitlyn Elizabeth Hooks served as her mother’s maid of honor. Amber Nicole Dew, daughter of the groom, was the bridesmaid.

Harold Powell Dew Sr. served as best man.

Ushers were Michael Raymond Rouse, brother of the bride, and Josh Street.

Linda Jarrell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Rachel Delaney. Jordan Lopez distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Huffman, pianist, and Julie Hunsinger, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church family life center.

After a wedding trip to London and Scotland, the couple will reside in Fremont.

A rehearsal dinner was also held at the church.
