Creech-Graves
DUDLEY — Dorian Marie Graves of Wilmington and John Matthew Creech of Wilmington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 8 at 3 p.m. at Dudley Christian Church, with Douglas Dexter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David Alan and Dale Parnell Graves of Dudley and the granddaughter of Walter and Janie Parnell of Kenly and James and Doris Kasper of Mount Olive.
She is a 2001 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in elementary education. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at New Hanover County Schools.
The groom is the son of John Woody and Beth Brady Creech of Pikeville and the grandson of John and Peg Brady and Earl and Ellen Mitchell of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2002 and attends Cape Fear Community College. He is employed with Food Lion of Wilmington.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a haltered diamond white formal gown with a satin bodice embroidered with pearls and sequins with a tulle Cinderella skirt.
Her waist-length veil was adorned with pearls and attached to a pearl and sequin headpiece.
The bride carried a spring assortment bouquet.
Nina Voltaire of Wilmington served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stephanie Hobbs, Stacey Hood and Jennifer Sawyer of Wilmington and Lindsey Holloman and Holly Strickland of Mount Olive, friends of the bride.
John Woody Creech served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Eric Brady of Wilmington and Corey Creech of Pikeville, brothers of the groom; Justin Brady of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom; Devin Graves of Fayetteville, brother of the bride; Robert Mabe of Wilmington, friend of the couple; and Lawrence Williams of Wilmington, friend of the groom.
Jenna Parnell and Julie Parnell of Smithfield, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.
Jordan Parnell of Smithfield, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Walter B. Fletcher of Wilmington was ringbearer.
Joleigh Parnell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kylee Batchelor. Lynn and Seth Brady distributed programs.
Shirley Huff, aunt of the bride, was a special helper.
A program of wedding music was provided by Brenda Dexter, pianist, and Jimmy Martin and Julie Parnell, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Southern Wayne Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Disney World, Fla., the couple reside in Wilmington.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon in June hosted by the bride; a lingerie shower in June hosted by Jennifer Sawyer; a bachelorette weekend in June hosted by Ashley Turner, Amber Kirby and the bridesmaids; a groom’s shower in June hosted by the groom’s mother; a miscellaneous shower in May hosted by Joleigh, Jenna, Julie and Jordan Parnell and Shirley Huff; a monogram shower in April hosted by Barbara and Lindsey Holloman; and an engagement party in February hosted by Stacey Hood.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Dudley Christian Church.
