Roberts - DeGrechie
Casey Brooke DeGrechie and William Donald Roberts Jr. were united in holy matrimony June 24 at 2 p.m.
Dr. Glenn F. Phillips Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Marian M. DeGrechie and Michael D. DeGrechie of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Charles J. and Virginia D. Moore and the late Merle L. DeGrechie of Goldsboro and the late Robert DeGrechie of Vermont. She is the stepgranddaughter of Donna B. DeGrechie of Vermont.
Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Dixon of Mount Olive and William Donald Roberts of Dudley are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Estene M. Roberts and the late Rodell Roberts of Calypso and the late C.W. and Lila H. Corbett of South Carolina.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white silk charmeuse gown with an empire bodice with a deep V-neckline at the front and back. The empire bodice was beaded with Swarovski crystals and beaded detail. The gown had a mermaid-style skirt with a trumpet semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a cathedral-length veil accented with freshwater pearls. She carried a bouquet of lily of the valley and sweet pea.
Erin DeGrechie Buskey of Wrightstown, N.J., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Summer Gail Blanchard of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Roberts Wallace of Mount Olive, sister of the groom, and Tara DeGrechie Kaupa of Goldsboro, sister of the bride.
William Bennett Shirley of Chapel Hill was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Jason Glynn Dixon of Clayton, stepbrother of the groom; Collie Hill Wallace III of Mount Olive, brother-in-law of the groom; and Jaison Brian Kaupa of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the bride.
Ian Michael Settle of Goldsboro, nephew of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Savannah Jade Perry of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Joshua Segen Buskey of Wrightstown, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Elsie R. Hooks directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Windy Williams of Faison, friend of the groom.
Colby James DeGrechie and Alex Michael DeGrehie of Rochester, N.H., cousins of the bride, distributed programs. Mr. and Mrs. James William Meeks of St. Louis, Mo., uncle and aunt of the bride, were Scripture readers.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Gray, organist, and Krista Cala, violinist.
The couple will take a wedding trip later. They will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School. She attends Wayne Community College’s dental assisting program.
The groom graduated from North Duplin High School. He is employed as a receiving manager at Belk’s.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church Elsie R. Hooks hall.
On June 23, a bridesmaids’ luncheon was held at the Royal Tea Room of Selma. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
Elsie Hooks and ladies of First Baptist Church held a bridal shower June 11.
On June 3, the groom’s aunts held a kitchen shower in Paxville, S.C.
The groom’s family held a dinner and shower May 13 at the home of the groom’s grandmother in Calypso.
On April 30, Judy Holland and ladies of Bear March Church held a bridal shower.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the church.
