Ashley Kay Lane became the wife of Johnathan Lee Edwards Saturday, June 17, at 2 p.m.
Pastor Mark Fields officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Stevie Glenn Lane and Connie Cox Lane of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Sutton and the late James Horace Cox of Calypso and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lane of Mount Olive.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Mark Edwards and Elaine Chamberlain of Clinton. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Beasley and the late Gilbert Edwards of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Guinn of Salemburg and Margaret Armstrong of Warsaw.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown of white Duchess satin with a sweetheart neckline accented with a crystal bugle bead trim with a vintage-style rhinestone brooch.
For her headpiece, she chose a scalloped tiara of rhinestones and rhinestone baguettes that extended into a two-tiered veil trimmed with Swarvoski crystals embellished with rhinestones. She carried a clutch bouquet of calla lilies.
Elizabeth Glenn Lane of Mount Olive, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Hood, cousin of the bride; Anna Edwards, sister of the groom; and Ashley Sutton, Morgan Lee and Erin King, friends of the bride.
Mark Edwards was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Paul Edwards, brother of the groom; Justin Crumpler, cousin of the groom; and Clint Williams, Brian Jackson and Jeffrey Gautier, friends of the groom.
Meredith Sutton, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Turner Edwards, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
Vickie Sutton directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Donna Hood, aunt of the bride. Brandie Beasley, aunt of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kathy Strapco, pianist, and Randy Cashwell, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to the western Caribbean, the couple is residing in Clinton.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed at Hargrove Elementary School with Sampson County Schools.
The groom graduated from Clinton High School in 2001. He served in the Marines. He is employed with PET Dairy Products.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception at the church. Kellie Witherington was director. Attendants were Donna Hood, Tammy Sutton, Selena Crumpler and Marsha Devone. Hugh and Bridget Britt and Ronald and Donna Hood greeted guests.
On June 16, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the church. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
The bridesmaids held a lingerie shower and outing May 13 at the home of Kellie Witherington.
On April 8, family and friends of the couple held a miscellaneous shower at Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Donna and Jennifer Hood held a honeymoon shower Feb. 5 at the home of Stevie and Connie Lane.
