Ray - Bell
Ashley Elizabeth Bell and Jesse Alan Ray pledged their marriage vows June 10 at 2 p.m.
Pastor Dann Patrick and the Rev. Charles Ray officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Walter and Barbara Bell of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of the late Stephen Sr. and Ruby Hunter and the late David and Mildred Bell of Morehead City.
The groom is the son of the Rev. Charles and Sherri Ray of Ball Ground, Ga. He is the grandson of the late Edna Callahan and Jesse Callahan of Lexington and the late Carolyn Ray and Jack Ray of Athens, Ga.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white sleeveless A-line gown with a satin-draped front.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil of silk illusion with a satin-corded edge. She carried a bouquet of pink stargazer lilies.
Kristie Baer of Gastonia, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Charity Davis, Tiffany Garris, Jennifer Haas, Melissa Haas and Cara Smith of Goldsboro, friends of the bride, and Melissa Ray of Ball Ground, sister of the groom.
Josh Collett of Canton, Ga., was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Zachary Bell of Black Mountain, brother of the bride; Caleb Ray of Ball Ground, brother of the groom; and Ryan Allan of Lexington, Ky., Josh Francis of Basehor, Kan., Garrett Mason of Libson Falls, Maine, and Billy Miller of Christianana, Tenn., friends of the groom.
Meredith Baer of Gastonia, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Jackson Baer of Gastonia, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Sue Floars and Paula Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jan Haas. Janice Rouse distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mary Bell and Jan Haas, pianists, and Zachary and Mary Bell, Amber Mann and Janson Roberts, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Ball Ground.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2006 graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a bachelor of science degree in graphic design.
The groom graduated from Crossroads Christian School in 2001 and Pensacola Christian College in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. He is employed as a probation officer with Georgia Probation Management.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception at the church. Attendants were B. Smith, Vicki Marcum, Joyce Corbett, Claudia Bruce and Roxie Davis.
On June 1, Charity Davis, Melissa Haas and Cara Smith held a lingerie shower.
Ladies of Faith Church held a miscellaneous shower May 23.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the church.
