Wahl - Mitchell
Dr. Sallie Grist Mitchell and Dr. Alex Michael Wahl were married April 22 at noon.
The Rev. Eugene M. Carpenter officiated at the ceremony at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Earl Mitchell of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Edward Mitchell and the late Mary Faircloth Mitchell of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Fowle Bowers of Elizabeth City.
The groom is the son of Dale Eldon Wahl of Ligonier, Pa., and Susan Roehrig Barcellino of Naples, Fla. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Purney Anderson Wahl of Evans City, Pa., and Charles Robert Roehrig and the late Hazel Roehrig of Ligonier.
The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father.
Caroline Bowers Mitchell, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Steven Patrick Wahl was his brother’s best man. Ushers were William Brock Mitchell, brother of the bride, and Dr. Glenn Arthur Klaus.
After a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a doctorate. She was presented at the North Carolina Debutante Ball in 1996.
The groom graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a doctorate.
