WASHINGTON — Erin Aubrey Gaddy of Greenville became the bride of Brandon Douglas Burch of Chapel Hill Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

Dr. John Ledford and Dr. Michael Price officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Christian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Gary Lee and Jill Bateman Gaddy of Washington. She is the granddaughter of Carl William Jr. and Joyce Williams Bateman of Greenville and the late Charles Lester and Marie Biles Gaddy of Havelock.

Parents of the groom are Dr. James Douglas and Bonnie Peedin Burch of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Ella Mae Dail Peedin of Raleigh, the late James Edwin Peedin of Selma and Edna Stevens Burch and the late Dennis Carl Burch of Richlands.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal white satin asymmetrical A-line dress with beaded lace appliqué detail with a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose a silver pearl tiara with rhinestone flowers attached to a three-tiered cathedral veil with rhinestones and a pencil edge. She carried a bouquet of red roses tied with satin ribbon.

Jennifer Cudney, college friend, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kate Maloney and Fallon Harrington, friends of the bride.

Dr. James Douglas Burch was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Trey McCrary, Ashley Burch and Shawn Burch, cousins of the groom.

Miriam Roberson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Roseann Bass, Annette Jefferson and Lynn Woolard.

A program of wedding music was provided by Edwin Collins, cousin of the groom, organist, and the Bill Bagwell Handbell Choir.

After a wedding trip to Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple is residing in Chapel Hill.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Washington High School and a 2000 graduate of Wesleyan College with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She attends East Carolina University for a master’s degree in biology.

The groom graduated from West Carteret High School in Morehead City in 1997, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and East Carolina University in 2003 with a master’s degree in biology. He attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a Ph.D.. in human genetics and molecular biology.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church. Libby Garris, friend of the bride’s family, greeted guests. Pam Warren, friend of the bride’s family, poured punch. Sara Moore, friend of the bride’s family, served the wedding cake.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Dec. 9 at Bellefont Plantation House of Washington.

On Dec. 3, Robin Arnold and Gordon Watts, friends of the bride’s family, held a dinner at Thai Spoon Restaurant of Greenville.

Theresa Moore, Margaret Ann Woolard and Sandra Edwards, friends of the bride’s family, held a miscellaneous shower Nov. 20 at the Moore home in Washington.

On Nov. 19, Jean Gibbs, Faye Collins, Sandra Peedin and Linda Allen, aunts of the groom, and Ella Mae Peedin, grandmother of the groom, held a miscellaneous shower at the Gibbs home in Raleigh.

Ladies of First Christian Church of Washington held a tea Nov. 13 at the church.

On Nov. 5, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burch and Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Burch, uncles and aunts of the groom, and Edna Stevens Burch, grandmother of the groom, held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burch.
