Serlick - Reeves
PIKEVILLE — Melanie Paige Reeves became the bride of James Chase Serlick of Pikeville Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.
Pastor Don Sauls officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Aubrey Kent and Betty Jean Reeves of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of the late Cecil and Velma Gay of Goldsboro and Essie Reeves and the late Aubrey Reeves of Fremont.
Parents of the groom are Christopher Kenneth and Janay Serlick of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Tom and Ginger Harris of Oakridge, Ore., Carolyn Serlick of Goldsboro and the late Bill Serlick of Panama City, Fla.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a scalloped strapless town with metallic embroidery encircling the pleated skirt and cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a rhinestone beaded tiara with a fingertip veil beaded with pearls. She carried a bouquet of roses, baby’s breath and fern.
Kristin Campbell was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Speight, Jennifer Wilson, Christa Serlick, Crystal Gardner and Jennifer Head.
Chris Serlick was best man. Groomsmen were Travis Reeves, Corey Martin, Stephen Howell, Jeffrey Head and Brogden Hines.
Cassie Capps was the junior bridesmaid. Chase Serlick was the junior groomsman.
Fayth Serlick was flower girl. Caleb Mooring was ring bearer.
Twonana Campbell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Misty Herring and Stacey Britt, cousins of the bride. Heather Fereza, friend of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin and Amy Mooring, pianists and vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple is residing in Pikeville.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate’s degree in science and a 2004 graduate of Barton College with bachelor of science degrees in accounting and business administration. She is employed as a loan processor with the State Employee’s Credit Union.
The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2003 and Wayne Community College’s basic law enforcement training in 2005. He is employed as a police officer with Goldsboro Police Department.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club.
On Nov. 26, Sherry Formy-Duval, Diane Massengill, Misty Herring, Christy Frazier, Stacey Britt and Summer Davis held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Pike Crossroads Church.
Allison Speight and Jennifer Wilson held a Christmas shower Nov. 19 at the Speight home.
The bride’s family held a miscellaneous shower Nov. 6 at Pike Crossroads Church.
ON Nov. 4, Chris Serlick held a tool party at Pikeville Church.
Kristin Campbell held a personal shower Nov. 4 at her home.
ON Nov. 3, staff of the State Employee’s Credit Union held a miscellaneous shower.
The LOV group held a miscellaneous shower Oct. 9 at Pikeville Church.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Pikeville Church.
