Galloway - Russell
NEGRIL, Jamaica — Jamela Shanette Russell of Raleigh and Michael Kevin Galloway of Raleigh were united in marriage Nov. 5 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Brian Victor McKitty officiated at the double-ring beach ceremony.
James and Leola Russell of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Gladys Wilkens Russell of Cowpens.
Parents of the groom are Clifton and Agnes Galloway of Bolivia.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a satin gown with an empire waistline. The fitted bodice was embellished with white beads and sequins.
For her headpiece, she chose a veil of silk enhanced with a beaded edge. She carried a bouquet of coral roses.
LeAudrey Giordano, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Gladys Davis, sister of the bride, and Keysra Galloway, sister of the groom.
LaMonte Leath was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were David Powell and Stafford Young, friends of the groom.
Kyra Giordano, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Bryson Galloway, son of the couple, was ring bearer.
Andrea Luckoo-Edwards directed the wedding.
After a wedding trip to Negril, the couple is residing in Raleigh.
The bride is a graduate of North Carolina Central University with a business administration degree in accounting. She is employed as a human resources application consultant with Lawson Software.
The groom graduated from North Carolina Central University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master of arts degree in agency counseling. He is employed as an investigator with the city of Raleigh.
A reception was held Nov. 19 at Sister’s Garden of Raleigh.
