Howell-Pittman
Stephanie Ann Pittman became the wife of Stephen Roberts Howell Nov. 12 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Steve Lawrence officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Nahunta Friends Meeting.
Parents of the bride are Edward and Brenda Pittman of Fremont. She is the granddaughter of Marjorie Radford and the late Aaron Radford of Pikeville and Christine Pittman and the late J.T. Pittman of Fremont.
Parents of the groom are Robbie and Debbie Howell of Fremont. He is the grandson of M.D. and Nancy Allen of Grifton and Linwood and Esther Howell of Pikeville.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of shantung and netting. The beaded waistline defined the paisley motifs that decorated the strapless bodice. The hemline of the A-line skirt and chapel train were decorated with matching silver decorations.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestones adorned with crystal accents that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion enhanced with touches of scattered rhinestones finished with a penciled edge. She carried a bouquet of open roses, rosebuds, star flowers and calla lilies.
Christina Pittman of Fremont, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Barbara Bailey of Colorado, Crystal Shoemaker of New Bern and Ashley Nelms of Fremont, friends of the bride, and Paige Reeves of Pikeville, friend of the groom.
Robbie Howell was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Cuddington of Raleigh, Joey Lancaster of Goldsboro and Brandon Godwin of Clayton, friends of the groom, and Jonathan Greeson of Pikeville, friend of the bride.
Cassie Howell, cousin of the groom, was flower girl.
Robin Radford, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Brooke Radford, cousin of the bride, and Brooke Howell, cousin of the groom.
C.J. Radford, cousin of the bride, and Valerie Lovings, cousin of the groom, distributed programs. Kathie Fields, aunt of the bride, was a special helper.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sharon Caughron, pianist, and Paul Woodard, cousin of the bride, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Lookout Mountain, Ga., the couple is residing in Kenly.
The bride is a cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a minor in poultry science. She is employed as a pet nurse with Banfield The Pet Hospital of Garner.
The groom graduated from Wayne Community College with a degree in electronic engineering technology. He is employed as a biomedical engineer with Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held. George and Jackie Joseph, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Kim Howell and Terry Lovings, aunts of the groom, and Katherine Woodard and Kathie Fields, aunts of the bride, were assistants.
On Nov. 12, Jackie Joseph and Katherine Woodard, aunts of the bride, held a brunch at Nahunta fellowship hall.
On Nov. 11, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Nahunta Friends fellowship hall. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
Kevin Cuddington, friend of the groom, held a bachelor party Nov. 5 in Smithfield.
On Oct. 29, Christina Pittman, sister of the bride, held a bachelorette party in Raleigh.
Family and friends of the groom held a miscellaneous floating bridal shower Oct. 1 at Mt. Carmel Church.
On Aug. 20, family and friends of the bride held a miscellaneous floating bridal shower at Nahunta Friends fellowship hall.
