McCoy - Kennedy
PRINCETON — Casey Kennedy became the bride of James Brandon McCoy Sept. 17 at 4 p.m.
Pastor Robert Ormond officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Princeton Church of God.
Parents of the bride are Doug and Diane Kennedy of Kenly. She is the granddaughter of Rex and Bessie Pittman of Lucama and the late James Ray and Lois Kennedy of Kenly.
The groom is the son of James and Teresa McCoy of Princeton. He is the grandson of Boger and Lillie McCoy of Princeton and James Earl and Clarene McCoy of Burnwell, Ky.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown with an off-the-shoulder corset bodice with a tulle skirt accented with metallic rose-patterned lace sequins and pearls that flowed into a chapel-length train with sequins.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara accented with rhinestones and a veil with iridescent stones. She carried a bouquet of white fuchsia-tipped rose, lilies and miniature fuchsia carnations.
Paula Byrd, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Hannah Bailey and Heather Jones, friends of the bride.
Kirk McCoy was his cousin’s best man. Ushers were Ricky Kennedy, uncle of the bride, and Larry McCoy, uncle of the groom. Groomsmen were Joey Wadsworth and Wes Wadsworth, friends of the groom.
Alexis Byrd, niece of the bride, and Hannah McCoy, cousin of the groom, were flower girls. Grey McCoy, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
Amy Zieverink and Tara Hester directed the wedding. Drew McCoy distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Angel and Phil Meready, vocalists; and Shane Phillips, sound technician.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Kenly.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of North Johnston High School and a 2001 graduate of Johnston Community College. She is employed as a health information management coder with Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom graduated from Princeton High School in 1999 and Johnston Community College. He is employed as a vendor with Coca-Cola.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church banquet room. Debbie Byrd cut the wedding cake.
On Sept. 16, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Princeton Church of God.
Coworkers of the bride held a shower Sept. 8.
ON Aug. 6, Diane Kennedy and Teresa McCoy held a bridal shower at Jubilee Fellowship Church of Smithfield.
