Flowers - Myers
Amy Joy Myers and Jeremy Todd Flowers were united in marriage Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
Bill Showman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Ray of Hope Church.
Parents of the bride are Raymond Robert and Brenda Pilkington Myers of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Albert and Minnie Pilkington of Princeton and the late Raymond Carroll and Bobbie Myers of Birmingham, Ala.
Parents of the groom are Arnold Lee and Gloria Daly Flowers of Seven Springs. He is the grandson of James and Nonine Daly of Goldsboro and the late Ray and Bertha Flowers of Mount Olive.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of Italian satin and Alencon lace. The fitted bodice was embellished with lace, pearls and sequins. The V-neckline was outlined with pearls. The long sheer tapered sleeves were enhanced with beaded cutouts. The Basque waist was encircled in beaded lace. The full floor-length skirt and cathedral-length train were flanked with garlands of beaded lace and lace motifs in a pyramid design bordered in scalloped Alencon lace.
For her headpiece, she chose a rhinestone tiara accented with pearls attached to a single-tiered veil accented with a sequin and beaded trim with crystal accents. She carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies, pink and white roses, heather and Italian ruscus.
Sharon Coker, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Donna Strickland, sister of the bride; Jami Potter, aunt of the groom; Lisa Befumo, sister of the groom; and Lisa Martin, friend of the bride.
Arnold Flowers was his son’s best man. Ushers were Lucas Potter and Ethan Potter. Groomsmen were Scott Flowers and Lee Flowers, brothers of the groom; Luke Potter, uncle of the groom; and Michael Morgan, friend of the groom.
Madison Coker, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Hudson Coker, nephew of the bride, was the miniature groom.
Logan Flowers, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Austin Strickland, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Linda Clark directed the wedding assisted by Cindy Laster. Presiding at the register were Jennifer Thompson and Jill Parks. Merdith and Madeline Clark distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Hope Lockamy, pianist; Daniel Mann and Amber Mann, vocalists; Daryl Richardson, trumpeter; and Jenny Heim, violinist.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, Cozumel, Mexico and Belize and Grand Cayman, Costa Mayo, the couple will reside in Seven Springs.
The bride is a graduate of Faith Christian Academy. She is employed as a customer service representative with the Little Bank.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in forestry. He is employed as president of Flowers Timber and Land Inc.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception. Greg and RoseMary Lutcavage greeted guests. Jennifer Thompson and Vickie Hawkins poured punch. Edith Thompson and Linda Radford cut the wedding cake.
RoseMary Lutcavage, Emily Weil and Betty Ellis held a bridal luncheon Oct. 15 at Lane Tree Golf Course.
Sharon Coker and Donna Strickland held a lingerie shower Oct. 9 at the Coker home.
On Oct. 8, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Parks, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morgan held a tool shower.
Jami Potter, Lisa Befumo and Lauren Williams held a miscellaneous shower Sept. 24 at the Potter home.
An engagement party was held July 2 at the home of the groom’s parents.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Ray of Hope Church.
On Oct. 7, Mr. and Mrs. James Daly, grandparents of the groom, held a dinner party at the Steak Barn.
