Davidson - Howell
RALEIGH — Christina Marina Howell of Raleigh and Gregory Steele Davidson exchanged promises Aug. 6 at 2 p.m.
Father Jerry Sherba and Father Al Dash officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
The bride is the daughter of Gene C. and Raquel A. Howell of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Rosa Rodriguez and Ignacio Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas, and the late Thelma Howell and Dewitt Howell of Goldsboro.
The groom is the son of Gilbert S. and Carol A. Davidson of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Anna Partica and the late Frank Partica of Raleigh and Gilbert and Julia Davidson of Edinburg, Va.
Given in marriage and escorted by her mother, the bride wore a strapless A-line gown with a beaded sweetheart neckline. A satin band at the hemline matched at the neckline and continued to the back of the bodice to form a collar-like flap. Beads and clear sequins above the hemline complemented the beaded design at the back of the bodice. Hand-beaded buttons were attached down the chapel train.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with matching beading attached to a single-tiered cathedral-length veil of silk illusion that ended with a finished edge. She carried a bouquet of tangerine roses and green berries.
Debbie Kennedy, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeanne Canting and Lisa Worrell, sisters of the bride; Kristin Frycz, sister of the groom; and Lisa Gardner, friend of the bride.
Sean Timney was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Uwe Canting and Curtis Kennedy, brothers-in-law of the bride; Greg Galloway and Joe O’Connell, friends of the groom; and Michael Howell, brother of the bride.
Kayla Kennedy, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Audrey Worrell, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Jacob Canting, nephew of the bride, was the miniature groom.
Ryan Kennedy, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Tom McGinnis, organist; Jill Howell and Keri McCahan, vocalists; and Sarah Grover, trumpeter.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia’s Sandals Resort, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in parks, recreation and tourism and a sport management concentration.
The groom graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School of Raleigh in 1995 and North Carolina State University in 2000 with a bachelor of science degree in business management and a minor in Spanish.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Brier Creek Country Club of Raleigh.
On June 25, the bride’s family held a shower at Stoney Creek fellowship hall.
Co-workers of the bride held a shower June 15 in Raleigh.
On June 4, friends of the groom held a North Carolina State-themed shower in Raleigh.
Parents and neighbors of the groom held an engagement party May 6 in Raleigh.
On March 19, Jeanne Canting held a Pampered Chef shower at her home.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Cardinal Club of Raleigh.
