AUGUSTA, Ga. — Carrie Elizabeth Hines and Kevin Lanier Jeffers exchanged their wedding vows June 4 at 6:30 p.m.
The Rev. Dan Joyner officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Sacred Heart Cultural Center.
Mr. and Mrs. William Neal Hines of Augusta (formerly of Goldsboro) are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward E. Scott, Lura Pierce Hines and the late William Henry Hines of Goldsboro.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Benny Jeffers of Sylvania, Ga. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Wyant and the late Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Jeffers of Sylvania.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a silk strapless A-line gown with a diamond and pearl encrusted dropped waistband and a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a diamond and pearl encrusted comb attached to a double-tiered chapel-length veil with a satin-trimmed edge. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink roses.
Julie Lee of Newnan, Ga., sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Sally Crunkleton of Evans, Ga., friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Allen of Columbia, S.C., Jennifer Delk of Clarks Hill, Ga., and April Slaughenhoup of Columbus, Ga., friends of the bride, Rometa Eber of Montgomery, Ala., and Jessica Harrison and Taylor Scott of Goldsboro and Jennifer Powell of Richlands, cousins of the bride; and Heidi Jeffers of Sylvania, sister-in-law of the groom.
Benny Jeffers was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Jeffers of Sylvania, brother of the groom; Travis Jeffers of Sylvania, nephew of groom; and Chris Barnard, Trey Smith and Travis Still of Augusta, Guy Greene of Sylvania, Brad Thompson of Flowery Branch, Ga., Travis Timms of Savannah, Ga., and Chip Wells of Cairo, Ga., friends of the groom.
Chandler Lee of Newnan, niece of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.
Tanner Lee of Newnan, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
A program of wedding music was provided by the Corelli String Quartet and April Slaughenhoup, friend of the bride, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple is residing in Atlanta.
The bride is a graduate of Augusta State University with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She is employed by Eli Lilly and Co. Pharmaceuticals as a diabetes care specialist.
The groom attends American Intercontinental University for a bachelor of business administration degree in business management. He is employed as an accounts manager with South Metro Landscapes of Atlanta.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Augusta Country Club.
On June 3, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Partridge Inn of Augusta.
Ladies of Wades Baptist Church held an English tea May 21 at the home of Chip and Janet Taylor of Sylvania.
May 12 through 16, a bachelor party was held at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino of Las Vegas, Nev.
April Slaughenhoup held a bacahelorette party May 12 through 16 in Charleston, S.C., and Isle of Palms.
On May 1, Dianne and Sally Crunkleton, friends of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower at their home in Evans.
Luanne Scott, aunt of the bride, and Carol Price, family friend, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 30 at Mally’s on 7th of Augusta.
On April 23, Julie Lee, Chandler Lee and Tanner Lee held a lawn and garden shower at the Lee home in Newnan.
Friends and co-workers held a honeymoon shower March 24 at the Intercontinental Hotel of Buckhead, Ga.
On March 5, Susan Gurganus, aunt of the bride, and Jennifer Powell, cousin of the bride, held a stock-the-bar shower at the Gurganus home in Pikeville.
Guy and LeAnn Greene and Kyle and Heidi Jeffers held an engagement party Feb. 12 at Briar Creek Country Club of Sylvania.
