NEW BERN — Jean “Jeanie” Elizabeth Rhodes of Wilmington and Timothy Allen Baker of Wilmington exchanged promises June 25 at 6 p.m.

The Rev. Jeremy Warnick officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Christ Episcopal Church.

The bride is the daughter of James S. III and Susie A. Rhodes of New Bern. She is the granddaughter of Jean Atwood and the late H. Baker Atwood of Pine Bluff, Ark. and the late Dr. James Jr. and Jean Rhodes of New Bern.

Parents of the groom are Timothy R. and Jackie C. Baker of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Martha Caudill and the late Jack Caudill of Goldsboro and James and Ginger Baker of Hillsboro, Ohio.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin strapless formal gown with a fitted bodice. The back flowed into a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose an elbow-length veil trimmed in satin on the bottom. She carried a clutch bouquet of white roses and hydreangeas accented with blush pink tulips.

Jennifer Siegal of New Bern, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Maggie, dog of the couple, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Clossey of Wilmington, Andrea Young of Raleigh, Morgan Roney of Charlotte, Katie Whitlow and Sara Dailey of Arlington, Va., and Julie Germany of Chicago, Ill., friends of the bride.

Tim Baker was his son’s best man. Scott Siegel of New Bern, brother-in-law of the bride, was the usher. Groomsmen were Brandon Peele of Charlotte, Will Smith of Greenville, Jimmy Kessler of Raleigh, Andy Crain of Goldsboro and Rick Croson and Jamie Coleman of Wilmington, friends of the groom, and Steve Caudill of Wilmington, uncle of the groom.

Holly Caudill of Wilmington, cousin of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.

Libby and Anna Maack, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Ryan Caudill, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

A program of wedding music was provided by Stephen Anderson, organist; James Whitlow, vocalist; and Daniel Jones, trumpeter.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Wilmington.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of New Bern High School and a 2001 graduate of Appalachian State University with a major in interior design. She is employed as a manger with Charlotte’s of Wrightsville Beach.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1997 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a major in environmental studies. He is employed as an environmental compliance officer with the city of Wilmington.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dance and reception at New Bern Country Club.

On June 25, a wedding day brunch was held at New Bern Country Club.

A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held June 24 at the home of Janet Buff of New Bern.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 24 at Sheraton New Bern.

A bachelorette weekend was held May 20 in Chicago, Ill.

On April 23, a bridal shower was held at Cherry Point.

On March 18, a bachelor weekend was held in New Orleans, La.
