Southern - Cecil
RALEIGH — Melissa Anne Cecil and Daniel Keith Southern were married April 16 at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Scott McCue officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Parents of the bride are Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Cecil of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Rose Therese Cecil, the late Martin Cecil and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Drury of Owensboro, Ky.
Walter Southern and Mrs. Ed Curry of Greensboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Lloyd Cox, the late Lucy Cox and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Edwards of Greensboro.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
Jessica Murphy of Greensboro, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Angela Cecil of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, and Rachel Kimball of Greensboro, friend of the bride.
Eric Ambrose of High Point was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Mike Edwards of Greensboro, cousin of the groom, and Phil Spahr of High Point, friend of the groom.
Erica Ambrose was flower girl. Distributing programs and ushering were Nathan and Eric Wiedenhoft, nephews of the groom.
Sandy Povlak directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Annette Tenneson, sister of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by John Hermann, organist, and Judie Bruno, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple is residing in Raleigh.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at Holiday Inn Crabtree.
