Hadzijahic - Carter
MOUNT OLIVE — Stacy Nicole Carter and Vidzdan Hadzijahic exchanged vows Saturday, May 21, at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Lynn Epps officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Henry and Ruth Carter of Faison are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Coley of Faison and Dora Mae Carter and the late William Henry Carter of Warsaw.
Parents of the groom are Slavica Hadzijahic an the late Muhamed Hadzijahic of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luke Spasojevic and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hakija Hadzijahic of Bosnia.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white crystal organza and satin with a strapless neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with beaded lace adorned with crystals and rhinestones that ended in a dropped waistline. The full skirt was enhanced with beaded lace scattered throughout and cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a headband of rhinestones and pearls that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascade of white gardenias, freesia, roses, stephanotis, delphinium and pink larksburg.
Melissa Lewis of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Stevens of Calypso, Brooke Kelly of Mount Olive, Rebekah Nassef of Goldsboro, cousins of the bride, and Sandra Spasojevic of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom.
Groomsmen were Darjan Spasojevic of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom,; Slavko Spasojevic of Goldsboro, uncle of the groom; Reed Lewis of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the bride; and Jeremy Cheney of Goldsboro and Mark Toler of Mount Olive, friends of the groom.
Honorary bridesmaids were Brittney and Jenny Coley of Mount Olive, cousins of the bride, and Gena Tucker of Wilmington and Heather Epps of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
Alexis Lewis of Goldsboro, niece of the bride, and Olivia Shaffer of Dunn, cousin of the bride, were flower girls. Adam Jackson of Turkey, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Peggy Coley and Sue Davis, aunts of the bride, directed the wedding. Cynthia Barber, friend of the bride, was coordinator. Presiding at the register were Perry and Nikki Ennis, cousins of the bride. Haley Williams and Luke Bradshaw, friends of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Connie Bradshaw, pianist; Amanda Whaley Anderson and Matt Bartlett, vocalists; and Terry Shaffer, trumpeter.
After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2003 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1999. He attended Mount Olive College. He is employed as an assistant manager with Food Lion.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Ray and Ellen Brogden, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Barbara Kornegay, Donna Ricks, Gina Rackley and Lib Bradshaw were servers.
On May 14, the bridesmaids held a bachelorette party in Raleigh.
Sue Davis, aunt of the bride, and Rebekah Nassef, cousin of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 14 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
On May 10, co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Ann Kelly, Peggy Coley, Sherri Coley and Sue Davis held a floating miscellaneous shower April 10 at Millers Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
On Feb. 27, Melissa Lewis held a lingerie shower at her home.
Rebekah Nassef, cousin of the bride, held a Christmas shower Dec. 11 at her home.
The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club.
