Walker - Herring
Gail Brogden Herring and Robert Harold Walker said their wedding vows April 16 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Sherwood Howell officiated at the double-ring outdoor ceremony at the home of Jeff and Carolyn Walker.
The late Joe and Myrtie Brogden are parents of the bride.
The groom is the son of the late Robert and Sallie Walker.
Given in marriage by her sons, Travis and Michael Herring, and escorted by her grandson, Kyle Herring, the bride wore a sleeveless street-length dress with a matching shawl.
For her headpiece, she chose a bow with purple and white lace and purple roses. She carried a bouquet of white, purple and blue roses.
Tatum Walker, great-granddaughter of the groom, was flower girl. Austin Walker, great-grandson of the groom, was ring bearer.
Presiding at the register was Jessica Walker, granddaughter of the groom.
The couple will take a wedding trip later. They are residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a high school graduate. She is employed at Greenwood Middle School.
The groom graduated from high school and college. He is a retired farmer.
Following the ceremony, a pig picking reception was held at the home of Jeff and Carolyn Walker.
Women of the Moose held a surprise shower April 27.
