Warren - Barwick
Lindsay Katherine Barwick and Gregory Robert Warren were united in holy matrimony April 2 at 1 p.m.
The Rev. James F. Garneau officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Danny and Mary Ann Barwick are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Grover and Betty Hall of Mount Olive, the late Kathleen Ball, Bill and Marie Kennedy of Goldsboro and the late Leonard Barwick.
Bob and Debra Warren of Mount Olive are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of George and Addie Warren and Charles and Shirley Shumate of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown of diamond white silk organza accented with Alencon lace. The scooped back featured covered buttons with loops and a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil. She carried a clutch bouquet of bridal blush roses and pale blue irises accented with star of Bethlehem, chartreuse buttons and seeded eucalyptus.
Melissa Anderson Dail, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tara Deconte of Maniwaki, Quebec, cousin of the bride, and Brooks Daly and Ashley Wiggins of Mount Olive and Martha Warren of Greenville, friends of the bride.
Bob Warren was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Michael Warren, brother of the groom, and Matthew Wiggins and John Whitfield of Greenville, Jeff Reed of Pittsburg, Pa., and Landon Mariani of Chapel Hill, friends of the groom.
Stephanie Sharpe, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Ryan Sharpe and Joseph Herlihy, cousins of the groom, were ring bearers.
Carol Sears directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Heather Sharpe, cousin of the groom.
Special helpers were Kayla Wise, cousin of the bride, and Lillie Herlihy, cousin of the groom. Sandy Fisher, aunt of the groom, was lector.
A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Eubanks, organist; Cindy Grant, trumpeter; Paige Vickory, violinist; and Jimmy Martin, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 magna cum laude graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in business education. She is employed at Rosewood High School as a business and marketing teacher.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2000 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in exercise sports science and biology. He was on the varsity football team. He is employed at Georgia Pacific.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club. Sprunt and Beth Hill of Mount Olive greeted guests.
On March 30, Beth Hill, Becky Davis, Jo Ann Smith and Kaye Barrow held a luncheon at Crossties Restaurant.
Bill and Marie Kennedy, Charles and Phyllis Kennedy and Chris and Edie Wise, relatives of the bride, held a cookout March 26 at the home of Bill and Marie Kennedy.
On March 25, friends of the groom held a bachelor night out in Wilmington.
Marie Kennedy, grandmother of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon March 19 at Southern Exposure Restaurant of Faison.
On March 13, Sandy Fisher, Judy Herlihy and Susan Sharpe, aunts of the groom, held a shower at the home of Debra Warren.
Brooks Daly and Ashley Wiggins held a bachelorette weekend March 12 and 13 in Wilmington.
On Feb. 26, Karen Sasser held a dinner party at her home.
Co-workers of the bride held a shower Feb. 18 at the home of Rhonda Gaylor.
On Feb. 13, Betty Hall, Kathy Jacobs and Lisa Dail, relatives of the bride, held a shower at the Hall home.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club.
