Massey - Jones
Brandi Carol Jones and Matthew Scott Massey pledged their wedding vows April 2 at 7 p.m.
Ray Smeltzer officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Adamsville Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Douglas and Patricia Jones of Seven Springs. She is the granddaughter of the late Issac Jones, Rachel Jones and Elliott and Edna Hill of Seven Springs.
The groom is the son of Alton and Rose Massey of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Frank and Virginia Woodard and Earl and Mable Massey of Four Oaks.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a scoop neckline accented with short sheer sleeves adorned with pearls and rhinestones. The empire bodice was embellished with crystal, pearls and rhinestones. The A-line skirt was beaded at the hemline and cascaded into a semi-cathedral train enhanced with a pleated center and a candy box bow.
For he headpiece, she chose a crown and veil of rhinestones and pearls.
Sheri Patricia Jones was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashely Smith and Aaronia Grady, friends of the couple, and Jennifer Hill, cousin of the bride.
Alton Massey was best man. Groomsmen were Mark Massey, brother of the groom; Kenneth Massey, uncle of the groom; and Jonathan Womble and Bradley Papst, friends of the couple.
Emily Dunn, cousin of the groom, was the miniature bride. Jesse Futrell, cousin of the groom, was the miniature groom.
Mary Beth Crumpler directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Dean and Barbara Hill. Frankie and Bobby Woodard distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Cox, pianist and vocalist; Donna Outlaw, family friend, vocalist; and Jamie Cox, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Seven Springs.
The bride is a 2002 honor graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in business administration. She attends Mount Olive College for a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational development. She is employed as a financial aid counselor with Mount Olive College.
The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2002 and Wayne Community College in 2005 with an associate degree in livestock and poultry technology. He is employed as a research assistant and herdsman II with Cherry Research Farms.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Linda Price, aunt of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Wilma Jones, cousin of the bride, poured punch. Dean and Barbara Hill, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Donnie and Virginia Kearney, uncle and aunt of the groom, greeted guests.
On March 11, co-workers of the bride held a miscellaneous shower.
Misty Dunn and Michelle Futrell held a lingerie shower March 5 at the Dunn home.
On Feb. 20, the groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower at the home of the groom’s parents.
The bride’s family held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 14 at the home of the bride’s parents.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at the church fellowship hall.
