Jackson - Kidd
Kathryn Rose Diane Kidd and Kevin Michael Jackson exchanged wedding vows Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Steve Singleton officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Grantham Church of God of Prophecy.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kidd of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Rose Everette and the late Cecil Everette of Goldsboro and Margaret Kidd and the late Thurman Kidd Sr. of Dudley.
Gene and Suzanne Jackson of Rosewood are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Ernest and Margaret Jackson and George and Jean Williams.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder dropped waist full skirt gown. The sleeves, bodice and hemline were adorned with seed pearls and lace that flowed onto the cathedral-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of white roses, pearls and lace with a waist-length veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses and greenery with hints of claret roses and streamers of white and claret ribbons.
Jennifer Kidd, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Kelli Holland, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.
Gene Jackson was his son’s best man. Dana Hill, friend of the groom, was the groomsman. David Wise, friend of the couple, was the usher.
Christian Kidd, niece of the bride, and Shauna Schroeder, cousin of the groom, were flower girls. Hunter Tripp, friend of the couple, was ring bearer.
Tammy Wingard, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kristy Jackson, sister of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Blake New, friend of the couple.
The couple will take a wedding cruise to the Bahamas. They are residing in Grantham.
The bride is a graduate of Wayne Community College with a high school diploma and a certificate in health unit coordinating. She is pursing a certificate in medical insurance billing and coding from Wayne Community College. She is employed with Hasty Mart.
The groom graduated from Rosewood High School and Wayne Community College with an associate degree in pre-engineering. He attends North Carolina State University for a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He is employed with WalMart of Clayton.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception at Woodman of the World building of Mount olive. Larry and Pat Woodard, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Pearlie Ann Smith, aunt of the bride, were servers. Melody Thomas and Tina, friends of the couple, served the four-section white satellite cake with multi-colored claret and white flowers.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 22 at Ryan’s of Smithfield.
On Oct. 9, Jennifer Kidd held a bachelorette party in Fayetteville.
David Wise held a bachelor party Oct. 9 in Raleigh.
On Sept. 9, the bride’s mother and Jennifer Kidd, sister of the bride, held a Mary Kay party.
The bride’s parents held a cookout and bridal shower Sept. 6 at their home.
