Carter - Borkowski
ATLANTIC BEACH — Jody Ann Borkowski of Pikeville and Clifton Kevin Carter of Pikeville were wed Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.
Jeff Toler officiated at the private beach wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Borkowski of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McFatter of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Borkowski of Erie, Pa.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Carter of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Howard West of Goldsboro and the late Carrie Carter Wagner of Pikeville.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a satin halter A-line gown with a s weep train.
She carried a bouquet of red roses adorned with her grandmother’s pearls.
Stephanie Thomas, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Madeline Thomas, niece of the bride, was maid of honor.
Clifton Carter was his son’s best man. Scott Carter, brother of the groom, was the groomsman.
Emily Madison Honn was flower girl. John Harrison Gainous was ring bearer.
Joanne Honn directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Gainous.
After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks, the couple is residing in Pikeville.
The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School, Campbell University with a degree in business administration and North Carolina Wesleyan College with a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems. She is employed with Progress Energy.
The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed with Musgrave Auction Co.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dinner and dance reception at Goldsboro Country Club. Peggy Kennedy and Linda Barlett, aunts of the groom, served the wedding cake. Rick and Allison Pridgen, friends of the bride’s family, greeted guests.
On Sept. 25, Peggy Kennedy held a bridal luncheon at Billie’s on the Green.
Anthony and Dede Sauls held a his-and-her lawn and garden shower Sept. 24 at their home.
On Sept. 23, co-workers of the bride held a miscellaneous bridal shower and luncheon at Progress Energy of Raleigh.
Joyce Borkowski, Stephanie Thomas, Jennifer Gainous and Veronica Aycock held a miscellaneous bridal shower Sept. 19 at Rosewood Worship Center.
On Sept. 12, friends and family held a miscellaneous bridal shower at Salem United Methodist Church.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 11 at the Steak Barn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
Joanne Honn and Joy Overman held a Pampered Chef shower Aug. 21 at Pikeville Church.
A private reception was held at Royal Pavilion Hotel of Atlantic Beach.
