Spiron - Greeson
PIKEVILLE — Vanessa Rai Greeson and Chip Spiron of Goldsboro pledged their wedding vows Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.
Howard Scott and the Rev. Bryan Huffman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Joseph United Methodist Church.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. C. Vance Greeson of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Byrd of Clinton, Mattie Greeson of Burlington and the late Paul Greeson.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Spiron Sr. of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. William R. Burton Jr. of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Spiron of Goldsboro, Patti Seago of Raleigh, the late James M. Seago and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carter of Sparta, Tenn.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a strapless neckline trimmed with bugle beads, pearls and sequins. The fitted bodice was enhanced with a dropped beaded waistline. The A-line skirt cascaded into a semi-cathedral train enhanced with an inset of beaded crystal organza.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil of silk illusion with a rhinestone edge. She wore pearl earrings worn by her mother on her wedding day.
Heather Greeson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Boulduc of Goldsboro, sister of the groom, and Marie-Michelle Casimir of Charleston, S.C., Regan Jones of Mocksville, Liza Nunnery of Raleigh and Amanda Talton of Norfolk, Va., friends of the bride.
Charles Spiron Sr. was best man. Groomsmen were William Burton of Raleigh, stepfather of the groom; Jonathan Greeson of Pikeville, brother of the bride; Jason Seago of Zebulon, cousin of the groom; and Jack Snyder of Goldsboro and Grady Stephenson of Fayetteville, friends of the groom.
Kriquette Davis directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Michelle Spiron, sister of the groom. Jennie Burton and Lauren Burton, sisters of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Randy Prosser, organist, and John Warren and Lori DuBose, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in microbiology. She is employed as WARM Hearts Mentor program director with Goldsboro Family YMCA.
The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and Mount Olive College with a bachelor of science degree in sports management. He is employed as men’s and women’s golf coach at Mount Olive College.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek County Club. Mr. and Mrs. John Vause greeted guests.
On Sept. 11, co-workers of the bride held a couple’s shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wiggins.
Judy Vause, Brenda Hooks and Judy Strickland held a bridal shower Aug. 15 at St. Joseph Church.
On Feb. 21, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brashear held an engagement party at Billie’s Backstreet.
Aunts of the bride held a rehearsal dinner at the home of the bride’s parents.
