St. Amant - Williams
Amy Michelle Williams and Jay Benjamin St. Amant pledged their wedding vows on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m.
Dr. Glenn Phillips Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the First Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are A. Wayne and Brenda S. Williams of Goldsboro. Her grandparents are Mrs. John R. Williams of Everetts and the late Mr. Williams and Mrs. Henry H. Storey of Durham and the late Mr. Storey.
The groom is the son of Rita B. St. Amant of New Orleans, La., and the late Percy P. St. Amant Jr. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy P. St. Amant Sr. of Biloxi, Miss., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Owen E. Bennett of Memphis, Tenn.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown of matte satin. The V-neck halter had a drop-waist and the skirt was a modified A-line with a sweep train.
Her veil of silk illusion was accented with bits of crystals and flowed from a crystal tiara. She carried a bouquet of escimo and porcelina roses mixed with blush coffee beans and tree fern.
Wendy Hair was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Shannon Kunde, Jo Paul, Alison Pleasants, Sarah Ray and Susan Smith. Honorary bridesmaids were Crystal Boudy, Monica Frink, Lisa Hyatt, Natalie Smith, Denise Waller and Brittan Wheeler.
Owen St. Amant served as his brother’s best man. Ushers were Scott Hair, Mark Paul, Michael Smith and Bret Strickland. Groomsmen were Bryan St. Amant and Glen St. Amant, brothers of the groom, and Davisson Dunlap III, Chris Stakelum and Tyler Vann. Honorary groomsman was George R. Williams, uncle of the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were Samantha Lewis and Stephanie Lewis, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Bailey Howell. Ring bearer was Zachary St. Amant.
The wedding was directed by Lola Delbridge.
A program of wedding music was provided by John Warren, soloist, Mike Nault, pianist and organist, along with Krista Cala, violin, Katie Harper, flute, Danny Sellers, bass and Andrew Simpson, bagpipe.
Scripture reader was Patricia Warren.
Crystal Boudy and Denise Waller presided at the register, Monica Frink and Natalie Smith distributed programs. Lisa Hyatt and Brittan Wheeler were the gift table attendants.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at Billie’s Restaurant.
The couple took a wedding trip to New York and Williamsburg, Va.
The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner at The Steak Barn on Sept. 17.
A bridesmaid’s luncheon was given on Sept. 17 by Jenny Whitfield and Susan Smith at Billie’s on the Green. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
The groom honored his attendants at a luncheon in Raleigh on Sept. 17.
A bachelorette party was held on Sept. 11 at the home of Wendy Hair.
First Baptist Church friends gave a bridal shower on Aug. 15.
Friends of the couple gave a “round the clock” shower on July 10 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
