Jernigan - Riley
BURLINGTON — Tara Nicole Riley of Graham and John James Jernigan III of Burlington were united in holy matrimony Sept. 18 at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Terry Prichard and Steve Joyner officiated at the ceremony at Eastlawn Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Riley of Mebane.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Jernigan Jr. of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white A-line gown with a beaded bodice and a satin floor-length body and hem.
She chose a beaded headpiece with an elbow-length veil. She carried a bouquet of daisies.
Tracey VanSchaick, sister, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kim Dodson of Graham, sister of the bride; Caroline Dodson of Graham and Brooke VanSchaick of Mebane, nieces of the groom; Joan Jernigan of Pasadena, Md., sister of the groom; Tammy Gerringer of Elon; and Lori Wade of Mebane.
John Jernigan Jr. was his son’s best man. Ushers and groomsmen were Jeff Jernigan of Walkersville, Md., brother of the groom, Jeff King of Mooresville, Andy Gerringer of Elon, David Porter of Stoney Creek, Kyle Harper of Winterville and Matt Keene of Raleigh.
Joy Joyner directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Susan King. Wesley, Emily and Seth Jernigan distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kim Jernigan, pianist, and Jeff and Joan Jernigan, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Burlington.
The bride is a 1990 graduate of Alamance Christian School and a 1992 graduate of Alamance Community College with an associate’s degree in commercial art. She is employed as an executive assistant with DeGe Inc.
The groom graduated from Rosewood High School in 1988 and Wayne Community College in 1991 with an associate’s degree in business computer programming. He is employed as a senior programmer analyst with Gold Toe Brands Inc.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. A three-tiered wedding cake surrounded by daisies was served. Pam Lawhon and Lawanda Porter cut the wedding cake. Sandra Smith and Tara Dill were hostesses.
On Sept 12., Jeff and Susan King, Hugh and Judy Jennings, Walt and Natalie Lotspiech and Don and Ruth Matkins, friends of the couple, held a wedding shower.
The bride’s mother and sisters held a bridal shower Aug. 22.
On Aug. 7, an Hawaiian luau was held at the home of Andy and Tammy Gerringer.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Western Steak House of Burlington.
