KENANSVILLE — Brandi Leigh Burroughs became the wife of Dalton Ray “Pee Dee” Hamm Jr. Saturday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m.
The Rev. Frank Harrison officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Duplin County Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Durwood and Carolyn Burroughs of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of Steve and Lina Pate of Mount Olive, Elizabeth Burroughs of Dudley and the late D.T. Burroughs and the great-granddaughter of Carrie Davis of Mount Olive.
Pamela Hamm of Mount Olive and Dalton Hamm of Fuquay-Varina are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Edna Winders of Mount Olive, the late Albert Grady, Aileen Hamm of Rocky Mount and the late Robert Hamm.
Presented in marriage and escorted by her parents, the bride wore an ivory satin organza strapless gown accented with gold re-embroidered Alencon lace appliqués covering the bodice and full A-line skirt. The scalloped lace edge encircled the neckline and hemline of the gown. The back had a reverse pleated semi-cathedral-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a cathedral-length veil of silk illusion with a pencil edge hem attached to a comb. She carried a pave of pink miniature calla lilies.
Kelly Guy and Ashley Graham of Mount Olive, cousins of the bride, were matrons of honor.
Dalton Hamm was his son’s best man. Jonathan Hamm of Mount Olive, brother of the groom, was the groomsman.
Neal and Jessica Grady of Calypso, uncle and aunt of the groom, helped seat guests.
Gail Herring of Calypso, friend of the couple, directed the wedding, assisted by Bernice Davis of Mount Olive, aunt of the bride.
Presiding at the register were Mike Davis of Mount Olive, uncle of the bride, and Lance and Nolan Davis of Mount Olive, cousins of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Susan Edwards of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, pianist, and Zina Carr of Mount Olive, aunt of the groom, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2002 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse with Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom graduated from North Duplin High School in 1995. He is employed with Cooper Standard Automotive.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dinner reception at Duplin County Country Club. Elton and Teresa Davis of Mount Olive, uncle and aunt of the bride, said good-byes.
On Sept. 17, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner fiesta at Jones’ Grove Church of Mount Olive. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
The bride held a manicure and pedicure party Sept. 16.
On Sept. 14, co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Paula Ivey, Stephanie Ivey and Sara Gregory, friends of the bride, held a lingerie shower Sept. 11 at the Ivey home.
On Sept. 4, Bernice Davis, aunt of the bride, held an afternoon tea at Lydia’s Linens and Tea Room of Kinston.
John, Cathy and Thomas Fonvielle and Stephen Grady, friends of the couple, held a stock-the-pantry cookout Aug. 29 at
the Fonvielle home.
Friends of the groom held a bachelor party Aug. 28 in Jacksonville.
Aug. 27 through 29, Kelly Guy and Ashley Graham, cousins of the bride, held a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On Aug. 8, the groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower at Jones’ Grove Church fellowship hall.
Steve and Gail Herring, Vernon and Rose Carter and Steve and Debbie Jones, friends of the couple, held a garden cookout July 31 at the Herring home.
On July 17, family and friends of the bride held a breakfast and miscellaneous shower at the home of Steve and Lina Pate, grandparents of the bride.
Elizabeth Burroughs, grandmother of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower June 27 at her home.
On Jan. 11, the bride’s mother, Lina Pate, grandmother of the bride, and Kelly Guy and Ashley Graham, cousins of the bride, held a Christmas shower at the Guy home.
