Crystal Jean Smith became the bride of Robert Perry Campbell Jr. Sept. 11 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Daniel Freuler officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenwood R. Smith of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Morse and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood L. Smith of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Robert Perry Campbell Sr. of Goldsboro and the late Judith P. Campbell. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Campbell of Maryland, Doris Philyaw of Trenton and the late Myrl Philyaw.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless gown with a satin beaded bodice. The top had three inches of beads and sequins trim with a bass waistline with three inches of sequins. It had an organza overlay with sequins and beaded appliqués on the skirt. The train had a sequin and beadwork border.

For her headpiece, she chose a crown tiara with floral beads and rhinestones with a two-tiered veil of tulle with a white scalloped and pencil edge. She carried a cascading bouquet of Casablanca lilies, white roses and dendrobium orchids accented with coral roses.

Shannan Lee, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Shirley May, friend of the bride; Sharon Mills, sister of the groom; and Channing Mills, niece of the groom.

Robert P. Campbell Sr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Freddy Perry and Michael Hinnant, friends of the groom, and Dennis Morse, uncle of the bride.

Cierra Campbell, daughter of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid. Christian Mills, nephew of the groom, was the junior groomsman.

Cameron Campbell, daughter of the groom, was flower girl. Chase Smith was ring bearer.

Pat Kiewert directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Debbie Parrott. Jordan Smith and Justin Farrell distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Janice Sasser, pianist, and Jennifer Sexton and Melinda Moore, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Wayne Christian School and a graduate of Johnston Community College with a degree in cosmetic arts. She is owner of A Perfect Tan and Nails.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1988. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed as a sales representative with Southco Distributing Co.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith greeted guests. Tori Farrell distributed rose petals. Beverly Smith cut the wedding cake. Beverly Freeman poured punch.

On Sept. 10, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Free Chapel Church fellowship hall.

A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held Aug. 28 at Boondoggles Restaurant. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

On Aug. 21, Shannan Lee and Shirley May held a lingerie shower at the home of the bride’s mother.

Family and friends held a miscellaneous shower July 24 at Rosewood Worship Center fellowship hall.

On July 3, the bride’s parents held a cookout and lawn and garden shower at their home.
