Rouse - Wallace
MOUNT OLIVE — Sharon Michelle Wallace and Scott Brandon Rouse were united in marriage Saturday, May 15 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Mickey Whitfield officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Mike and Sharon Wallace of Albertson. She is the granddaughter of Ervin and Christine Futrell of Richlands and the late Mahlon Wallace and Virginia Wallace of Albertson.
The groom is the son of Cathy Rouse of Albertson and the late Frederick “Bud” Rouse Sr. He is the grandson of the late Josiah and Lillian Rouse and the late Fred and Emma Louis Pate.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a sweetheart neckline and long tapered sleeves. The fitted bodice was embellished with re-embroidered Alencon lace, pearls and sequins and ended in a Basque waistline. The back bodice closed with English net and bridal satin buttons. The full skirt was beaded with lace and pearls and cascaded into a cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestones that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with touches of star dust crystals with a pencil edge. She carried a bouquet of white roses and stargazer lilies accented with white pearls.
Kayla Wallace and Megan Wallace, sisters of the bride, were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Wallace, cousin of the bride; Danyell Rouse, sister-in-law of the groom; and Karla Grady, friend of the couple.
Frederick “Fred” Rouse was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Doug Grady, Brandon Rich, Kyle Kornegay and Dexter Rouse, friends of the couple.
Alyssa Smith was flower girl.
Amy Wallace, aunt of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Joy Tripp, cousin of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Keri Jo Mozingo and Blair Mozingo, vocalists, and Dondi Hobbs.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Albertson.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of East Duplin High School. She is employed with Discovery Insurance of Kinston.
The groom graduated from East Duplin High School in 1998. He is owner and operator of F&S Farms.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Herring, uncle and aunt of the groom, greeted quests.
On May 14, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Rooty Branch Church fellowship hall.
The bride’s mother held a bridesmaids’ dinner May 10 at the Country Squire of Kenansville.
On May 7, the groom held a steak supper at his home.
Amy Wallace and Elizabeth Wallace held a lingerie shower May 7 at their home.
On April 30, Discovery Insurance held a bridal shower.
Rooty Branch Church held a miscellaneous shower April 25 at the church.
On April 24, Joy Tripp held a recipe shower at her home.
Bethany Baptist Church held a miscellaneous shower March 28 at the church.
On March 14, members of Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department held a miscellaneous shower at the department.
