Laura English of Pikeville and Ronald Marion Flanagan Jr. said their marriage vows June 26 at 1 p.m.
The Rev. Byron C. Murray and the Rev. Charles A. Lindquist Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Coker Memorial Church.
William James English of Pikeville and the Rev. Charles A. and Teresa H. Lindquist of Asheboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Barney W. English of Wilmington, the late Estelle B. English and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Lee Howard of Magnolia.
Parents of the groom are the late Ronald M. Flanagan Sr., the late Linda C. Moody and Beth Flanagan Ray of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Marion A. Flanagan and Maxine W. Flanagan of Pikeville and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph M. Moody of Seven Springs.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white matte satin gown with a tank-style neckline accented with crystal beaded trim. The sleeveless princess line bodice was embellished with crystal beading and flowed from the natural waistline into an apron back with covered buttons and a crystal beaded satin border. It had a semi-cathedral-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a waist-length veil with white satin headband accented with beaded pearls, iridescent sequins and crystal beading. She carried a cascading bouquet of Eskimo roses and lavender skyline roses accented with white wax flowers and Italian ruscus.
Tina Lancaster, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Jordan Tyndall, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Brock, Kelli Gurley and Crystal Sutton, friends of the couple.
Bradley Tew was his friend’s best man. Ushers were J.C. Collins, Eric Murray, Michael Hamm, Chris “Woody” Woodard and Jeremy Sutton, friends of the couple.
Brenna Flanagan, daughter of the groom, was flower girl. Zack Lancaster, friend of the bride, was ring bearer.
Jean Adams and Tina Pender, friends of the couple, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Matt and Ginger Green, brother-in-law and sister of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Elizabeth Rivenbark, aunt of the bride, pianist, and Walter Bass, godfather of the bride, and the couple, vocalists.
The couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Greene Central High School and 2003 graduate of Johnston Community College. She is employed as a cosmetologist with Sizzor Trix Hair Design.
The groom graduated from Faith Christian Academy in 1991. He is employed as a sales supervisor with Furniture Fair.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
Jean Adams, Frankie Dawson, Norlette Adams and Tina Pender held a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 19 at the Royal Tea Rooms.
Ladies of Mt. Shephard United Methodist and West Chapel churches held a miscellaneous shower June 5 in Asheboro.
On May 23, Tina Lancaster, Susan Gurley, Amy Brock and Crystal Sutton held a pantry shower at New Hope Fire Department.
On May 2, the ladies auxiliary of Coker Memorial Church held a miscellaneous shower at the church.
Ginger Green and Kayla Flanagan, sisters of the groom, held a linen and things shower April 3.
On April 3, a shower was held at Goldsboro Country Club.
