Leonard - Riggan
WASHINGTON — Joy Leigh Riggan and Matthew Starkey Leonard said their promises Saturday, May 15 at 1 p.m.
The Rev. Jay Martin and Jason Leonard, brother of the groom, officiated at the double-ring garden ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Oden.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Debra Riggan of Greenville and Ray and Alice Jones Harrell of Dudley. She is the granddaughter of Katherine Riggan of Macon, Anne Jones of Pinetops, Ruth Harrell of Pikeville, the late Earl Riggan Sr., the late Eugene Jones and the late Ernest Harrell.
Parents of the groom are Wiley and Margaret Jernigan Leonard of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Leonard III of New Bern and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Williams Jernigan of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal beaded gown.
She carried a bouquet of orange and fuchsia roses accented with solidago.
A program of wedding music was provided by Paula Tisdale, violinist.
The bride is a graduate of Wayne Country Day School and Appalachian State University. She is employed as an interior designer with Inside Out Designs of Wendell.
The groom graduated from Wayne Country Day School. He attended Appalachian State University. He is employed as a chef with Nina’s of Raleigh.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Cafe by George of Washington.
