Hood - Jackson
Angel Marie Jackson and Christopher Daniel Hood of Goldsboro said their wedding vows May 15 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Rick Mondell officiated at the double-ring ceremony at New Life Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are David and Carol Jackson and Charles “Buddy” and Deborah Perry of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Pete and Ann Whitehead and Rosa Jackson of Rocky Mount.
Carolyn Ann Larkin of Woodstock, Ga., and Peter and Sandy Bertsch of Augusta, W. Va., are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Emilie Hood of Alexandria, Va.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown with a rum pink embroidered bodice.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of pearl flowers with a veil trimmed in satin and scattered pearls. She carried a bouquet of 12 red roses and greenery.
Cheri Powers of Goldsboro was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Julia Whitehurst of Rocky Mount and Jenny Bartik and Melissa Garrison of Goldsboro.
Mel Powers Jr. of Goldsboro was best man. Ushers were SSgt. Joey Supon, SSgt. Shawn Hogan Steven Powers and Mike Carcirieri of Goldsboro. Groomsmen were David Smith and Scott Bartik of Goldsboro.
Sara Whitehurst of Rocky Mount and Kylie Warrick of Goldsboro were flower girls. Jonathan Barnes of Rocky Mount was ring bearer.
Presiding at the register was Merry Weller. Darrell and Michael Powers distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Al and Denise Laws, vocalists, and Kelly Barnes, sound technician.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of Southwest Edgecombe High School of Pinetops. She is employed as an administrative assistant with DaVita Dialysis.
The groom graduated from Osborne Park High School of Virginia. He is serving in the Air Force.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
On May 15, Mel Sr. and Linda Powers held an after-reception party at their home.
The bride’s father and stepmother held a pig picking May 14 at Pinewood Volunteer Fire Department.
The bride’s family held a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 8 at the home of Melissa Barker of Rocky Mount.
On April 27, teammates at DaVita held a recipe shower at Madison’s Restaurant.
Mel Jr. and Cheri Powers held a couple’s shower April 24 at their home.
On April 17, the bride’s family held a shower at First Free Will Baptist Church of Rocky Mount.
