Mary Elizabeth Hill became the wife of Anthony Kirk Hill May 8 at 4 p.m.
Pastor Bill Rose officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Parents of the bride are Pamela Hill of Goldsboro and the late Gary Hill. She is the granddaughter of Clem and Inez Gray of Goldsboro, Jimmy Vail of Pikeville and the late Lantice and Mary Virginia Hill.
The groom is the son of Becky Hill of Birmingham, Ala., and Dennis and Patsy Hill of Fultondale, Ala. He is the grandson of Martha Hill of Mount High, Ala., the late Milton Hill and Henry and JoAnn Ratliff of Hayden, Ala.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, Matt Hill, the bride wore a gown of white satin with a strapless neckline. The fitted bodice was beaded with embroidery lace accented with crystal beading. The A-line skirt was embellished at the hem with embroidery lace and crystal beading. The back bodice had a wrap carriage adorned with rosettes that cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil of silk illusion edged in double coring adorned with rhinestones.
Crystal Hill of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Wilkerson, Jessica Wilkerson and April Vail, cousins of the bride, and Ashley Hill and Caroline Corbett, friends of the bride.
Nick Beckham of Hayden was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Rooney Wheeler, Don Kirkland, Waylon Hinkle, Ian Reid and Seon Carew, friends of the groom.
Samantha Jones, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Justin Jones, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Terry Ervin, cousin of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Phyllis Vail, aunt of the bride.
Special helpers were Keith Vail, Mike Wilkerson, Claude and Carolyn Kirkland, Anita Hales, Jennnifer Wheeler, Pat Johnson, Vickie Corbett, Diane Thomas, Raymond Riggan, Peggy Laws, Darlene Wilkerson and Tami Hill.
A program of wedding music was provided by Cutty Peacock, sound technician, and Lauren Bartlett, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Alabama, the couple is residing in Goldsboro. They will reside in Okinawa, Japan.
The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. She attended Wayne Community College.
The groom graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School. He is serving in the Air Force stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base as a crew chief.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Vickie Corbett, friend of the bride, poured punch. Diane Thomas and Anita Hales, friends of the bride, served the wedding cake.
The groom’s father held a rehearsal dinner at Madison’s.
