PIKEVILLE -- After allowing Charles B. Aycock to come back and send the game to overtime on a last-second 3-pointer from Ian Best last week, Danny Mitchell knew he couldn't let that happen again.
He challenged his defense to keep up the pressure, and his offense to get out in transition.
Challenge accepted.
Rosewood responded with strong pressure in the second half and held on for a 60-47 win over the Golden Falcons on Tuesday.
Aycock fell to 0-9 overall this season.
"I thought we did a much better job defending tonight than we did last week," Mitchell said. "We rotated well moved our feet. It's something we still need to work on but we did a better job."
Dennis Mitchell continued to be a double-double machine as he finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Zack Barnes and Ethan Chapin led a hot-shooting Eagles team as they combined for six 3-pointers and outscored the Golden Falcons 18-3 behind the arc.
Jarde Spruill led CBA, which was decimated by foul trouble, with 16 points. Keyshawn Cobb had nine.
Rosewood travels to Cleveland today and CBA (0-9 overall) takes on Southern Nash today.
