Wayne Christian's Jennifer Price finished second overall and earned all-conference honors during the regular season ending Carolina 1-A Christian Conference meet held on Friday at Wayne Christian.
Faith Christian advanced in the N.C. Christian Schools Coastal Region 2-A tournament with a 25-16, 20-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-3 victory over Trinity of Greenville on Friday.
Rebecca Smith had 12 assists, four service aces, three digs and a kill for the Conquerors. Brooke Anderson added eight digs and five kills. Kaitlyn Floars provided six blocks, five kills, four digs and an ace. Bethany Dail chipped in three digs and an ace and Brittany Dail contributed a dig and an ace.
Faith (11-4 overall) plays again Tuesday.
Cross country
Eagles split CCC 1-A meet
Wayne Christian completed the regular season portion of its schedule by hosting the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference championship meet on Friday.
The Eagles defeated Cresset Christian 20-41 for the team title.
Wayne Christian's Josh Magnus finished second in the boys race with a time of 17 minutes, 52 seconds. Justin Brathwaite (18:23) and Connor Jones (18:46) were third and fourth, respectively. Magnus, Brathwaite, Jones, Mark Sawyer and Noah Kearney were each named to the all-conference team.
Trinity of Durham defeat the Eagle girls 23-43.
The Eagles' Jennifer Price was second with a time of 23:21 and earned all-conference honors. Teammates Kayla Kennedy finished eighth in 28:11, while Katherine Laramee crossed the line in 10th in 31:53.
