Gerald Eugene Smith, 76, died Wednesday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
There will be no funeral.
He was born in Wayne County to the late Riley and Louellen Worrell Smith, and was married to Louellen Burroughs Smith.
He is survived by three children.
Arrangements are by Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory.
