E. RAY AMON
June 14, 1931-June 18, 2018
Elmer Ray Amon, 87, Mount Olive, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was the son of the late John Ivey and Pearl Batchelor Amon, and husband of Christine B. Amon for 64 years.
Mr. Amon was a retired business man.
He was also a member of Faison Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Shelton Justice officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
In addition to his wife, Chris, Mr. Amon is survived by his daughters, Lynne Jackson and husband, Don, of Dudley, Tammy Amon of Mount Olive and Jan Bailey and husband, Harry, of Little Washington; a brother, John Ivey Amon Jr. of Goldsboro; sisters, Erma Goodson of Mount Olive and Hazel Westbrook of Albertson; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special friends, Glenn Odom and the Rev. Shelton Justice.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Vernon Batchelor.
