MARGARET BARWICK KELLY

Sept. 13, 1922–June 8, 2018

Margaret “Butchie” Kelly, 95, Goldsboro, passed away Friday afternoon at her home.

Margaret was born in Mount Olive to the late G. Davis Barwick and Lettie Mae Padgett (Miller).

After her graduation from Piney Grove High School, she attended Atlantic Christian College (Barton College), where she met and later married Kether David Kelly of Wilson, N.C.

She continued her education at Hank Hanna Beauty College in Raleigh, N.C., and was an instructor of cosmetology in the Goldsboro branch of the college.

She was co-owner of RA-MAR Beauty Salon in Goldsboro.

Margaret was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, where she spent many of her early years as a volunteer at its school.

She was a member in good standing in the Goldsboro Chapter No. 54 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was instrumental in the organization of the first assembly of the Goldsboro Order of the Rainbow for Girls, where she served as its first mother advisor.

Margaret enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kether, and her grandson, Graydon Jerome "Jerry" Parker III.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Jean Kelly and Donna Mae Kelly of the home and Angela Michelle Mozingo (Danny) of Goldsboro, and her son, David Randolph Kelly (Susan) of Angier.

Grandchildren include Robert "Bobby" Keith Parker, Zack, Megan and Madison Mozingo and Ryan and Justin Kelly.

Great-grandchildren include Keely Grace and Robert Rhys Parker and Beau Leland Kelly.

A graveside burial will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive Wednesday morning, June 13, 2018, at 11 a.m.

Visitation will follow the service.
