DIEDRE MERRITT KLEINERT

It is with great sadness that the family of Diedre "Dee Dee" Merritt Kleinert announces her passing Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the age of 64 years.
She was living in Charleston, S.C., at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Thomas "Tommy" Kleinert.
Diedre was born in Goldsboro, N.C., Feb. 20, 1954, to the late Earl "Bud" White Merritt and Mary Helon Pickett Merritt.
She retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she had worked in the business office for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine White Scarborough and husband, Cris Scarborough, and her beloved granddaughters, Kayla and Claire Scarborough.
She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Merritt and Diane Hill and husband, Mark Hill; brother, David Merritt and wife, Theresa Merritt; and brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Johnson.
A graveside service at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery will be held Friday, March 23, 2018, at 3 p.m.
