James Dennis Hill, 67, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville surrounded by his family.
Dennis was born in Wayne County, N.C., on Oct. 29, 1950, to the late James Irwin Hill and Minnie Smith Hill. He had volunteered for many years with the Faro Fire Department and was a jack of all trades who could fix almost anything.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Greg Moser officiating.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Peggy Hill; daughters, Holly Medlin and husband, Chuck; Lisa West and husband, Bryan, and T.J. Rawls and husband, Jamie; son, Dennis Hill Jr. and wife, Susan; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Marcy, Thomas, Zachary, Landon, Jack, Noah, and Jonnie James (J.J.). He is also survived by his sisters, Donna Cuthbertson and husband, Barry, and Terri Johnson and husband, Louie.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years and the mother of his children, Marcene Hill.
