Died Jan. 20, 2018

Sandra Kay Conely, 74, of Zebulon, passed away from a short battle with leukemia Saturday evening, Jan. 20, 2018. She was born in Shiawassee County, Mich., to the late Harvey Cottenham and Merece Nichols Cottenham.

Mrs. Conely loved crocheting baby blankets and counseling people about our Lord and savior. This love was often seen while attending church at Goldsboro Worship Center, where she was also a member of the choir for several years. Sandra worked at Siemens in Lizard Lick for seven years and is also where she retired from. Mrs. Conely loved her children and grandchildren very much.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2018, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.

Mrs. Conely is survived by her children, Michael "Mike" Briggs of Goldsboro, Richard "Rick" Briggs and fiancée, Rosie, Catherine Clifton and husband, Bobby of Zebulon and Amy Browning and husband, Rondall of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Ashley Briggs, Jeffery Briggs, Lindsay Briggs, Zachary Clifton and wife, Tiffany, Sarah Clifton, Robbie Browning and wife, Kaelyn and Nicholas Browning; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Raelyn Tyndall, Luke Briggs and Karli and Robert Browning; and brother, John Cottenham of Gladwin, Mich. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Cottenham.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, N.C., 27587.
