Deborah Speas Peacock, 64, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Deborah was born in Morganton May 22, 1953, to the late Herbert M. Speas Sr. and Dorothy Pratt Speas.
She had worked as an ethnographer, editor and paralegal for many years.
Deborah was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall of St. Paul United Methodist Church beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. This will be followed by a celebration of Deborah's life at 2 p.m. to be led by pastor James Harry.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Banks Peacock; son, Clark Peacock of Goldsboro; brother, Herbert M. Speas Jr. and wife, Marchalle, of Morganton; and her stepmother, Josie Speas of Morganton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; StageStruck, 121 W. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; or UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, Campus Box No. 7295, Chapel Hill, N.C., 27599-7295.
