ALLISON LEIGH JERNIGAN
Died Aug. 17, 2017
Allison Leigh Jernigan, Goldsboro, went home Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, to be with the other angels and loved ones in heaven.
A true angel, having innocence and purity of heart, Allison was a miracle and a blessing from the moment she was born.
She shaped the lives of family, friends and random strangers in ways that made them into better people.
Despite her own disabilities, she was always eager to help others. Her smile was like sunshine. Her eyes sparkled with light. A quiet touch on your arm let you know she was there.
Allison attended Community Developmental School in Goldsboro for 12 years and attended ADAP for four years.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Allison will never leave our hearts, minds or spirits. True love never dies.
A service to remember Allison will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church, of which she was member, with pastor Ronnie Heath officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the church and other times at home.
Interment will be Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Allison is survived by her loving parents, Jack and Alice Jernigan of Goldsboro; brother, Jeff Jernigan and wife, Melinda, of Goldsboro; and nephews, Joshua Jernigan and Graham Jernigan.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lydia and L.B. Starling Sr., Seaton and Lucy P. Carter and W.H. Jernigan Sr.
The family would like to express its appreciation for the compassionate care provided by her caregivers and friends, Joyce Uzzell and Esther Jones.
