James Thomas Frederick, 85, died Saturday at Wake Medical Center of Raleigh.
Funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, with elder Braxton R. Frederick officiating. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park North.
He was born June 4, 1932, in Duplin County to Bettie Elizabeth Armwood and Lemmie Frederick.
He is survived by eight children.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements are by J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
